Churails : Zee 5 announces First Pakistani original series

Churails is the first original from Zindagi. It stars Sarwat Gilani, Nimra Bucha, Mehar Bano and Yasra Rizvi.

Recently, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd announced the return of its most loved brand Zindagi on Zee 5. "Churails" will be the first original series from Zindagi. The series will start streaming from 11th August on Zee 5.



The 10 episode series will revolve around four self proclaimed "Churails(witches) who open a detective agency to expose cheating husbands. All the four girls are tired of the male patriarchy and abuse, which 'women' have been tolerating for years. The series is  directed by critically-acclaimed director Asim Abbas. He is well known for his 2018 film Cake which was Pakistan's official selection for Oscars.

"Churails" is : "A story about strong women, embarking on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment and sisterhood, I believe Churails is a timely show with pertinent themes that will resonate with audiences globally" said the director. On being given such a huge platform he added, “Zindagi’s commitment to truly original content that has a voice and can transcend borders, has provided me with the perfect platform to create a show like Churails,”

The trailer is out now and it certainly looks promising. The series will showcase myriad issues such as child abuse, sexism, domination of class and race. It will be first Pakistani original series to be aired on Zee-5.
