Movie review for Raat Akeli Hai

Yesterday, Nawazuddin and Radhika Apte starrer Raat Akeli hai was released on Netflix. The duo is back after a long time. They have been a part of projects like Manjhi: The Mountain Man, Sacred games. If you are a fan of suspense thrillers, this movie is definitely for you


This movie was Radhika's return to Netflix as in the past, she has worked on projects like Sacred Games, Ghoul, Lust Stories. The movie also lists Shweta Tripathi, Tigmanshu Dhulia who directed the Zee 5 movie "Yaara", Khalid Tayabji, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Aditya Srivastava, and Nishant Dahiya. The movie is directed by Honey Trehan who is a casting director, and this is his debut movie, similar to Mukesh Chabra who was a casting director and later directed Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi starrer Dil Bechara.

The theme of the movie is dark and a bit disturbing which in fact gets the movie a 'reality tag'. The 'Dabangg' of Kanpur Raghubir Singh is preparing for his second marriage, however he is killed despite the presence of so many relatives. The doubt goes on Radha (Radhika Apte) his second wife, as now after the murder she owns all the property. Jatil Yadav (Nawazuddin) who plays the honest cop, starts his investigation. The movie starts to pace when the murder unfolds new facts. The dialogues are so crisp in this movie, that you are hooked for the full length of the movie, and its the climax which will totally make you feel bewildered.
 The highlight of this film is hands down Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Radhika's performance was good too and all the other characters also played their part brilliantly. All in all the movie is amazing and certainly a worth watch.


The movie is a suspense thriller and it does give proper justice to this genre, however there are some scenes where the movies goes a bit slow as compared to other suspense thriller, Still the suspense will definitely thrill you. The Cinematography is best in this film, also the tight screenplay and story line, will hook you to your seats throughout the movie
