404: Error Not Found
A gem that was hidden under all the trash......
It's all in the mind or is there something which exists beyond our minds
We all at some point have ridiculed Bollywood for not producing good
content. however as an audience, we are also reluctant towards new
concepts. I am big fan of reading about mysteries. Whether it is about
the whole universe or our own mind. Also I have a keen interest in
reading about mental health .
Yesterday, I watched a movie called 404: Error not found, however the sad part is the movie was released in the year 2011 and I watched this or say I came to know about this gem now in 2020. Absolutely amazing story line, gripping background music and mind blowing concept. The movie seriously mess with your mind and in the end you are left with your own interpretations.
The movie features Nishikant Kamath, Tisca Chopra, Imad Shah, Satish Kaushik Rajvir Arora and Ruchir Raj.
The movie is based on medical college life. As most of us are aware, ragging is quite common in medical colleges and sometimes some people take it too far. In the movie there is a student named Gaurav who has committed suicide because of the pressure he was feeling because of all the ragging. He lived in a room named 404, after his suicide, there were rumors that the room is haunted.
Then next year a new batch arrives, and the same tradition of ragging follows, however there is one student named Abhimanyu who opposes this behaviors and often complaint to the management. Also he decides to live in that "haunted room" because he wants to prove everyone "It's all in the mind" Similar to his belief system he has a professor named Anirudh played by Nishikant Kamath who is a firm believer in Science and rejects everything which does not have any scientific explanations.
Chris played by Imad Shah, tells Abhimanyu to collect every information he can about Gaurav, the guy who commited suicide. But the seniors took ragging to a extreme level, and to a point where the guy actually starts to see Gaurav, first he is scared and for obvious reasons, but later he starts to resonate with Gaurav, and he starts to talk with him, he even visits his house and bring his stuff. His earlier belief that there is no such thing as a "spirit" is now broken and he tells his professor Anirudh that he is seeing the spirit. Anirudh tell him that because of that ragging incident, you are constantly thinking about Gaurav, and because of that you are now seeing him. He tell him " It's all in the mind". Professor's wife Mira played by Tisca Chopra suggests Abhimanyu to change his room but he denies it.
Is he really seeing the spirit or he is just hallucinating ? That's what the movie is all about.
First half an hour of the movies goes a bit slow which settles you before hitting your mind with all the speculations.
I can't reveal any much information, otherwise you would lose interest in the movie. It is definitely a must watch film and is available on Youtube for free.
DO comment if you have already watched the movie, or if haven't watched, Watch it. It's definitely worth your time. And then tell me if you liked it or not.
